On mine the bottom limb split were the axle goes in the hole to hold the cam on.

Are you sure they sold you a Carbon Overdrive?  Sounds like a Carbon Knight :dunno:

The other one cracked at the upper part of the handle .I'm not sure if it's just really bad luck or bad quality.

Did the riser break on the second or did the limb break?

I've never had much confidence in machined one piece limbs.  Especially those with the large blocky ends like those on both the C.Overdrive and Carbon Knight.  Those are the type that gave a bad name to all that used them whether is be PSE, Mathews, Martin, Bowtech...and the long list goes on.  They are super cheap so manufacturers continue to try every so often, but they always seem to have trouble sooner or later.  I did think the Carbon Overdrive would be better since they were not putting the axel through the limb.  I'm a Bowtech fan too, but there is a reason I have not tried any of their carbon risered bows yet.  And it has nothing to do with the riser ;)

Yep!  Almost as much as Hoyt guys :chuckle:

I dont think this guy really knows how to use this site.I cant imagine hes posting random.

I was thinking the same thing.  Odd detail to the story to be a random post.  Even if some of the bow detail leaves some questions.  Sure hope with all the following posts this guy is willing to post again and help clarify some details.

If his first post were one which slammed a taxidermist, for example, and then he never came back to substantiate, that would be one thing. However, he's talking about his experience with two bows breaking. Do you think he's actually Pete Shipley Shepley and trying to get people to buy PSE instead of Bowtech? I see absolutely no reason or benefit for someone to make up a story about bows breaking.

I personally want to see reviews of equipment, especially when it fails. Thanks for the first post, man. We hope to see more of you.

There, fixed it, RAD.

Exactly why scare people away or be rude were all are here to share & learn from 1 another...

I have owned a browning, hoyt, & now bowtech (admiral) & my wife & daughter shoot a diamond razors edge...so far only my hoyt had issues....good luck & thanks for the heads up....

too many stories of bowtech failures

My bro had a factory string eyelet come apart at the cam wheel, the bow was only months old, and it nearly scoooped out his eyeball if it weren't for his mirrored tom cruise top gun special edition aviator shades  :chuckle:

I know quite a few guys that shoot bowtechs and not one of them has had an issue. I've seen plenty of limbs on martin and hoyt come apart in years past . my guesss is if they have any issues they will be taken care of though.

I think we get used to it and forget that not everyone has had the exposure time to develop an appropriate skin.  And if you are coming from Archery Talk this was a rather pleasant greeting ;)  But that still doesn't change the fact it wasn't much of a "Welcome Aboard" first post reception.  I'll agree that a first post of this type of topic isn't a glaring example of how to introduce yourself.  But, the skeptics were awful quick on the trigger.

It could have something to do with that new avatar of yours too :yike:  Maybe he's a Yankees fan you Southy, Irish, Bastage !! :chuckle:  :chuckle:

I just got off the phone with the Bowtech Pro shop.  They've got a good group of guys down there that have been quite helpful to me over the years.  They are not part of the Warranty dept, but so far they have seen only one return on the Carbon Overdrive to the pro shop.  And that one was damaged in an old Apple bow press.  Who knows what the warranty dept is seeing, but it doesn't sound like it is a wide spread issue.  I'll post more when I get in touch with the warranty dept if they have something more to add.

just to clear this up it wasn't hoyt with the limb issue.  This thread title got changed and edited this was a bowtech thread.  Not sure why he removed his first post as of now this tread is useless.

Oh heck no, it's just starting to make sense!

Cryder, having a more expensive bow will not necessarily make you better at longer shots.  With my "middle of the road" Bear Encounter I am accurate to distances I would not shoot a game animal at because it's tuned and it has a good brace height and length combination for me.

Just go somewhere and shoot some bows   ;)
