Title: Hunting with coyote decoy, do you think it makes a difference?
Post by: fullpipe77 on February 04, 2014, 09:37:53 PM
I have seen them at walmart.  Was just thinking is it worth the hassle to bring it along.  Maybe it would help bring in the stubborn dogs.  Do any of you use dog decoys?  What brand decoy?

i use a coyote decoy and my mojo critter as its tail and that setup brings in everything. just put it in view around 20' from the call and watch the dogs come. good luck.

In open country with almost no cover for a stand(winter wheat) I've gotten away with sitting on an open hill side and setting a Montana coyote decoy out about 50 yrds and laying my Blackjack on the ground in front of it.  Coyote approaches have been so focused that sitting in the open I've been able to raise the gun and shoot without spooking a coyote.
