Here's a couple pics of a King we got out of Uclulet. It was a pretty wild day weather wise, we almost didnt make it out of the harbor in the morning due to the weather. 12 to 15ft swells coming from the west, with 3 to 4ft chop out of the south.. ( bathtub ) We went for it anyway and luckly the weather toned down as the day went on. My rod managed to be the hot one most of the morning scoreing some nice 20-25lbers and a few dandy silvers, and my buddie was havin a hard time getting hooked up. By around noon we had one more king to catch thanks to the feeders we tossed back. Thats when all hell broke loose..... :o My buddies rod popped of the rigger and doubled over screeming line out. He had a hard time getting it out of the holder, but managed. After ripping out 100yds of line the fish just stopped and started the good old head shakes. We new it was big but at the same time we where kinda thinking Halibut. After the head shakes he headed down straight to the bottom 140ft, and wouldnt budge. He started pumping the fish up and would gain 30ft but then right back down to the bottom. This went on for about 10min and we where sure by this that it was a big Hali. Then he decided to come up. In all honesty I couldnt believe that we got the fish to the boat in the amount of time that we did. We got LUCKY. He hardly fit in the net, it was kinda one of those double scoops to get him to fit. Alright thats enough Words heres the pic.... 63lbs to the boat in 15 minutes
