The deer is aiming the gun on you.

Nice buck, better duck :yike:

The gun is not aiming at me it is a very steep hill. Those are cell phone pics from my dad standing about 10 to 15 feet away. The bbl is resting on the antlers. Hey do you guys know where i can find a meat processor in or around federal way or auburn?

I know you guy are eventually gonna ask for a story so here it is, I was staying at a flea bag motel in Loon Lake, WA just north of Spokane. We hunted around Loon Lake for 2 day and saw absolutely nothing. Every other hunter was getting up at ridiculous hours like 4 in the morning and having there morning meeting right out side our door (my dad wanted to get up and tell them we have the same amount of deer in our truck as you do which is nothing so go back to bed.)lol with every other word out of their mouth was an F bomb my dad was not happy with having to listen to that. We very leisurely got up and got cleaned up and ate breakfast. We got on the road about 9:30 am and went about 40 miles north up around colville. Found some public land that look promising. We parked and got out and went down a gated logging road. We went in about a quarter a mile both my dad and i heard some deer stomping we walked a little further and jumped two does and this buck to our left. I took a shot at the buck and missed i followed it across the field and across the road up one hill and down another. Got up to the top of the next small hill after taking a few calming deep breaths, creeped over the top of the ridge started looking over the hill and saw the deer walking up a game trail heading NE angle to me. I knelt down and put one round of 325 wsm 220 grain power point right behind his left shoulder it went about 10 yards and fell over on the trail. My guess was it was about 60 to 70 yard shot. After shooting it we had to drag it out about a 1/2 mile through a drainage to the road.
Anyone know a good taxidermist in federal way or auburn?

Good Job!
I've stayed at that flea bag motel that your talking about. Did you have ants running all around the room? We did :yike:
-
Cool story! Congrats again buddy! My friend just bought a huge piece of property near Colville....gonna see if he will let me hunt it next year... :chuckle:
-
Yeah we were at the coffee shop across the street and everyboby was calling it the bates motel. No ants but a possible murder scene. The girl at the coffe shop was saying they caught a drug dealer, a rapist and a murderer. The DEA also raided the house next to the motel and in between the local thrift store. What an ideal place for a family. lol

220 grain bullet? Wow!! That must have pulverized his fronts. Great buck, way to stay after him.

Green Valley Meats in Auburn isnt taking any wild game this year. I take my stuff to B&E Meats in Des Moines. I usually get my deer mounted on the east side where I hunt but my buddy took his deer to SeaTac Taxidermy over in Edgewood and he seemed to do good at a fair price. He was extremely quick if I remember too.

Natures Way taxidermy in puyallup Canyon road. Excellent work.
-
Atta boy! Bringing the hammer with the 325 wsm
-
Linds meats in Black Diamond just outside of covington may process the best pep sticks, summer sausage and jerkey I have ever tasted with any wild game

I dropped it off at Duane's meat's in auburn for 75cents a pound seems like a good deal they had 25 deer ahead of me for processing so it seems people like them. my deer weighed 106 pounds without the head ,shanks, guts or hide.
