Well its happening...while my distance is still super good, I'm pretty blurry on things up close, need reading glasses these days. I have a disc extreme, and the "rear sights", are just a little blurry for me, right now, and I'm blaming my eyes for not being able to center up the front consistently. All i can think of is somehow pushing them forward a few inches. Wondering if any of you from the old timers club suffering my dilemma have any ideas.
I share your dilemma... possible look at a peep sight setup with the peep as far back on the rifle as you can get it. Even if the peep is a little blurry there the front sight will stand out and all you have to do is center it in the opening. With a peep you are not really looking at the sight anyway - you are looking through it.

Same problem here! I switched to a ghost ring style rear sight. I will try to find a link to the sight I use. It has really helped my grouping!!
This is the sight here! I also love the front sight. The front is wrapped with the Fiber and makes the front sight almost glow in the lowest of light :IBCOOL:!! After I bought these sights for my muzzy, all of my hunting buddies went out and bought them as well. Not all of them like the rear sight, some use peeps, and others just the normal open rear sight, but they all have this front sight!
I've never see it in stores, just on the net. But its well worth the $40 to order them. I know you will love them!

What kind of rifle are you shooting? I have the Williams adjustable rear peep on my CVA hunterbolt mag and it's great. Simple, all metal and the insert can be taken out to make it like a ghost ring. It works with the front sight that came with my rifle from the factory too.

On the front I also use a Williams ramp with a fiber optic front sight and a fire sight hood. Something like your true glow but not quite as bulky.

Put the pair together and you kinda think you are looking through a 1X scope. Not a real good picture but you get the idea...

I had a problem with getting fibers so close to my eye in low light. Seemed to make everything else go dark. Seems I can see much better in the dark timber later into the end of shooting hours without the rear fibers.
Totally agree. Those two dots on the peep sight look cool, but undermine one of the great benefits of the peep sight; to actually improve your eye's focus by centering the incoming light onto the eyeball.
