Looking to take my Dad and Brothers on a Springer run, wondering if you guys have any recommendations on a guide service for the lower Columbia R?

On April 5th last year we anchored up with our guide. He was wrapping kwickies with something special.
With 100 to 125 boats around we had over 100 jacks and got our 5 adults by Noon. We saw 2 other fish caught from all the other boats. We thought the jacks were a nusience but no one else got even one! And when the adults came by they couldent resit either. So, if your not catchin jacks, your offering sucks. Lol

Luck? Not even.

Call Ron Holt!

What part of the river? Below Bonneville closes on April 7 and I would expect the top guides to be booked now or very soon! However there are a lot of good guides to choose from on the lower river. FishHawk, Swanny, Eric Linde, All Rivers, Chinook Guide service, Lee Barkie to name a few. I see all these guys getting there clients fish year in and year out. You should start making calls to find out what dates are available. Sometimes if they don't have any dates open they will refer you to another who does. Good luck! Hope you get some spots! I can't wait to get after the springers myself!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I will start calling kind of a last minute deal to get us all together. No preference on section of river, anything that is open to boating em'. We are from eastern wa and are typically on the banks of ringold zinging lead in the spring.

You want fish?  I'd call Ron Holt.  Him or his dad will put fish in the boat. Lots of great guides out there but I've watched them pound fish with more regularity than many others.

I think I found them, is it "Clancy's Guide Service"?

If you want to fish the real lower river, I would say Ron or Clancy Holt. Jack and Brandon Glass would be great choices for the PDX area. You couldn't pay me to fish with Swanny  :twocents:
