So I have one of my marine corps buddy's that just moved to the tri city's. He has never been coyote hunting and I wanna get him into it. Trouble is he doesn't know the area and it new to me as well. Not asking for a secret spot wondering if anyone could help us out with some public land. I'm gonna buy a gmu tomorrow just don't know what to expect. Heard there were a lot of fox out there is that true. Pm me if you give me some tips you don't want the world to know. Thanks a lot for the help

Not many fox but ton's of yote's here. North of Pasco Just drive the roads out there. lots of places to hunt.

If you have a Garmin GPS, you could get a chip that shows ownership of every parcel.

There's not a ton of public ground. There is feel free to hunt land around to hunt. South of Kennewick there is very little land to hunt but there is some there to. Used to be lots of huntable land but it's gotten abused and shut down.

Looking google maps it seems like there is land around 395 off to the right. Buy that I mean it doesn't look likes it's bring farmed

Still mostly private. Just more grazing land than crops in that area. Don't be discouraged by private land though. Lots and lots of Feel Free to Hunt properties and willing land owners around. You can start with WDFW Go Hunt (http://apps.wdfw.wa.gov/gohunt/) to find FFTH land, but there is a lot of private land out there posted FFTH that is not on the official map. Just take a drive. Half the fun is finding places.

Hey that's the tip I was looking for I didn't know about the feel free to hunt land. I'm gonna go take a drive when I get there and see what I can shake up. Again thanks guys for the help this site rocks

I'm hunting 395 area North to Connell, its private range land, east of Connell to kalotus and back down the PK hiway is a sh@t ton of feel free. And I mean a lot!!

I would go knock on some doors, not to many farmers would turn you down for shooting dogs. :twocents:

That's true about the farmers over there in ellensberg I had one guy come out with me even but on the west side I always seem to ask the wrong people I had one farmer complain about a yote problem on his farm and then when I asked to hunt him he acted like I just ask to take his wife on a date ( goat farmer) encase anyone was wondering. I am thankful for the tips guy this gonna be a blast

Drive the areas these guys told you about at dusk or just before daylight and do some howling..make a mental note of where you hear replies and plan your hunts off of google maps the dogs around here are breeding and already digging dens they should be territorial at this time stay quiet and approach with the wind in your face. Set up In a high vantage point with a good field of view with sage or weeds at your back and never skyline yourself. Coyotes are everywhere around here. I try to find feel free to hunt land with agriculture close by. Seems like coyotes are near the canyon areas during daylight hours
