Benchrest Competition Schedule

The NCSC will be hosting five benchrest events this year.  Among those attending the events will be Bill Small who holds several shooting records and was inducted into the Benchrest Hall of Fame. Joining him will be his son Sam Small who won Top Gun at the 2013 Nationals. The event is open to all so this is your chance to compete with some real world class shooters. Don't be intimidated: this is a fun event regardless of your skill level and an opportunity to learn and improve your shooting skills.

Benchrest competitions for 2014 will be held Saturdays on the dates listed below. There will be two classes of competition: Factory and Custom. Both groups will shoot together but scoring will be based on the class you are shooting.

March 15th
April 19th
May 17th
 June 21st
 July 19th

Range opens at 8:30 AM, shooter’s meeting at 9:30 with match starting at 10:00. Entry fee is $12 and includes all targets and lunch.

The target used for the event consists of five record bulls plus a sighter bull (lower right corner). The shooter is allowed as many shots as desired on the sighter and shoots one shot on each record bull. The center dot is considered the "X" with the 10 ring being the first ring around the dot. Best edge scoring is used with a perfect or "clean" target being a 50-5x. The shooter is allowed 7 minutes to complete a target.

Varmint for Score Factory Class Rules
   1.All rifles must be center-fire.
2.All rifles must have a factory barrel.
3.Any trigger or trigger modification allowed.

7.All rifles shall be loaded by hand, one cartridge at a time and fired as a single shot.
8.Any separate front and rear rest shall be allowed (no lead sleds).
9.All matches will be scored and shot under NBRSA rules for varmint for score.
One warm up target and five for score targets will be shot so you will need a minimum of 36 rounds and will probably shoot up to 75 rounds of ammunition.
