Title: 2014 east side trip
Post by: Martinhunter on March 10, 2014, 12:10:32 AM
Hey all, so Iam looking into changing it up a little this season and head a little farther east to try out republic/curlew area for early archery. In the past I would always hunt around winthrop on the east side but was thinking I might try something new. An old buddy of mine who I no longer keep in touch with, use to hunt there every year with his dad and did really well there, thats why im thinking about trying it out. The problem is I dont know the first thing about that area and I'm thinking I might take a trip over there in the summer to do some scouting but I dont even know where to begin. I was just wondering if anyone had any advise or direction on that area? Maybe just a starting point for my scouting trip? Thanks alot.

The bow hunters I know hunt in the winter. They bait them and kill some BIG deer. There is alot of timber company land here, I mean thousands of acres to hunt on. You can leave my house and can't even cover part of it. It's gated  off, so you can walk or ATV till your hearts content on it.
