Title: Stevens County Wanderings
Post by: baldopepper on March 10, 2014, 07:28:40 AM
Went for a little drive around Sunday morning, mostly in unit 121.  Saws lots of birds but they still seemed to be pretty well in their winter bunches.  Find a feedlot, find the turkeys.  Making a lot of noise in the mornings, but the Tom's for the most part were still running in separate bunches and not showing much  interest in the hens.  Side roads are obviously still in terrible condition so I pretty much stayed on the main good roads.  Flocks seemed to have wintered very well , with a couple of bunches well over 100 birds. Nice to wake up to gobbles around the house though, spring can't be far away now.

Great to hear the flocks look good. Thanks for the report. I will be scouting around Ford this weekend.
