Title: When is best time to start hunting Sherman unit?
Post by: Harbor hunter on March 18, 2014, 10:02:11 PM
My eleven year old boy drew the Sherman tag and our time is somewhat limited.  Just wondering when people start seeing the most bears?  He will hike anywhere and is a good shot.  Thought about going over for the youth turkey hunt to do some scouting and maybe find a turkey.  Any good advice is appreciated.

Mid to late May, Once you get into June then the bear rut is on...Then if you find a sow there could be a boar with her...
