Title: Are the birds talking yet?
Post by: mwhunter on March 20, 2014, 08:26:13 PM: Hey guys, this is Mark's wife. I 'hacked' into his account because I'm way excited to start chasing the thunder chickens again this year! Has anyone heard any gobbling yet this spring?

Post by: buckcanyonlodge on March 21, 2014, 05:54:33 AM: They gobble year-round. The big winter flocks are still together but are starting to show signs of the spring "rut". I have a video of 26 toms in one group fighting and now the hens are fighting every afternoon. Won't be long before they split into smaller breeding flocks. Here is a pic of a couple toms fighting. The seem to try and swallow the other guys head! Check out the pic.
