Title: Too much rifle for elk?
Post by: WapitiTalk1 on March 24, 2014, 03:34:59 PM
Found this saved VID lurking on my computer so I thought I'd share it again. Is there such a thing as too much rifle for elk? Well, perhaps  :chuckle:

I'm sure some on here will think it's the perfect back country elk rifle :chuckle:

Not sure I would want to be the one to sight it in or work up the most accurate load.  Would be cool if they would have shown what the accuracy was.

Just put it in a lead sled anchored to the concrete slab, it'll take the kick right out of that mule  :chuckle: and I thought my .338 Edge had some mustard behind it  :yike:

As long as you can pack it and don't develope any bad habits...ie flinching, or messing your britches. Oh and afford the ammo.... :dunno:

I don't think that round is large enough to ethically harvest an elk....

I wouldn't shoot at an animal with that rifle due to the chance of missing it, resulting in more pain to myself then my prey  :chuckle:
