Costco has a 2 pack of 16 gig cards for $30 (normally) $35.

Post by: jackelope on April 02, 2014, 03:48:49 PM: I've had 4's and 8's in mine. As long as you're not video'ing, they work fine. I left 4gb cards in 2 of my cameras all summer. A little risky I guess, but it turned out fine and didn't take "too many" pictures to fill the cards. I have since replaced them with 8's.

Are you talking about battery life? I run a 16 gig in my Bushnell trophy cam with lithium batteries in the winter(30deg. to -15deg.). I usually get an average of 8000-9000 pictures in 4 months and the batteries are still full charge.

If you are planning to leave it out for long soaks, the more space the better. Another thing to think about as far as space is how many shot bursts you want to use. I go with 3 on mine because there are times when the animal doesn't stop or it gives me a chance to get different angles on critters. What sucks is if a doe or something comes and sets up camp in front of your camera and you end up with like 300 pics of the same stinking deer. :bash:

Also, 4 to 8mb cards are all I use too. No need to 16mb, especially since you can adjust cameras resolution and get 1500 to 2000 pics on a smaller card.

I normally check my cameras every two weeks but that time I let it go 6 weeks. I don't see the need for 16gb cards. I think even 8 is more than I would ever need.

I've never paid more than $5 for a sd card.
