Hopefully, this (using drones for hunting) is not the future.

Several states have explicitly outlawed them. Washington needs to do the same.
-
If we were smart, we'd outlaw drones for wildlife uses and for other "illegal" uses, such as harassing licensed hunters.
-
Drones are already illegal in Wash. St. As per the regs: pg. 78 no: 3
Using aircraft: (drones are aircraft) It is illegal to: Use an aircraft to spot, locate, or report the location of wildlife for the purpose of hunting.

Good catch, Bob.
I shudder to say this, but it might be a good idea to ask your local legislator to introduce a bill for the 2015 Legislature, specifically banning the use of drones for both hunting and harassment of hunters--perhaps word it to prohibit the use of drones during hunting season?....

I expect there'll be a correction in the regs for 2014.

The attempt to define drones as aircraft has already been unsuccessfully challenged by the FAA.
The 2014 regulations will not include any change. Washington needs to do what other states have done, and legislatively and explicitly ban them for hunting and scouting purposes.
