Title: Out of State Disabled Vets Fees are Being Reduced by the WDFW
Post by: pianoman9701 on April 10, 2014, 02:01:49 PM: So I just called in because I stupidly thought that I wasn't in the drawing for the MS elk tag. As I was asking, I saw where it says "Not Drawn Yet". I told the guy I had what I needed and he said he had information for me. He told me that out of state disabled vets will now receive lower rates for hunting licenses, and in some cases the same rates as in-state disabled vets. Pretty cool, I thought. Pass it along to your disabled vet friends and relatives! :tup:

Now if they will just change the wording in the Regs as well as the WACs so that it is either:

1. Not illegal for a military person stationed in this state to get a resident license here while simultaneously holding a resident license in another state as per that state's military clause. (ie - many eastern states sell a lifetime license that never dies and you do not have to maintain any form of residence....or Texas and other states that say...if you have a military ID card...you get resident tags although you are clearly not a resident)

2. Clear to all that read the Regs and WACs that military stationed in this state are not exempt from the resident requirement definition which says "to have a WA Resident license you cannot hold a resident license in any other state"

Right now this is unclear in all places its written and the WDFW tends to target military for this issue.

Post by: pianoman9701 on April 10, 2014, 02:35:04 PM: I'm not sure of min % or anything else. The guy told me on the phone and said if the numbers aren't up there yet, they soon will be. It's been decided/accepted by the Dept.. That's all I know.
