With 49DN spring bear tag in hand I'll be heading up tomorrow to go scout for Turkey and Bear tomorrow, any chance I may run across a bear? I was talking with a gent today that said they were out early last year. Not sure if this nice weather has helped much or where the snow level is. I know they usually won't be fully out until may, so I'm not hitting it to hard.

If i had a spring bear tag i woulnd try sand canyon road past the golf coarse or burnt valley road out of chewelah early in the mourning for glassing and driveing around both roads turn into national forest land ,i have seen bears on both these roads eatting trees.clawing the bark of trees to get to the sap sometimes u drive right up on them and they will only run off 50 to 100 yards and come right back to the tree they were eating.Burnt vally road can take u all the way to kalispal peak which if theres any snow left thats were it woulnd be the last peak to hold snow around here.Flowery Trail by the ski hill is good too but brush make them hard to find i woulnd check the first two roads first good luck.
