Post by: Bones on November 23, 2008, 07:31:02 PM: My camera took 306 pictures of this cat last night and early this morning. The cat ate my eagle bait.

That cam take nice pics. Send them to the manufacturer and see if they will buy them for advertisement. Make some money and/or some new cameras.

Ahh I thought it was a trail cam since that is the forum it is under. If that is a home brew trial cam that is very nice.

It is a trail cam. It's probably one of his home made ones.

Post by: Bones on November 25, 2008, 11:41:45 PM: All of my trail cameras are homebrews. The camera that is taking these cougar pictures is a Sony DSC-W90 8.1 mega pixels. Most of my cameras are Sony W200's, 12.1 mega pixels. I buy my cameras used on ebay, and I buy the control board and Pelican case at Yeticam.com.
I have permission to pick up road killed deer from the highway where we live here in the foothills. I can use these deer with my cameras, but I am always reminded that baiting is illegal. So sitting and watching these carcasses with a rifle is not an option. I enjoy the pictures that I get this way, and I would never do anything to lose this privilege.
This cougar is eating a small whitetail buck that was killed on November 5th. I picked up that buck and set it up with one of my cameras on November 10th. Here is a picture that I took when I set up that camera watching the buck.

Post by: Bones on November 25, 2008, 11:47:22 PM: When the cougar found the deer Saturday night, the deer had been dead for 17 days, and the eagles and magpies has been feeding on it for 12 days. Saturday night and early Sunday morning, I got 306 pictures of this cat feeding on the carcass.

I hide my homebrew cams very well and only put them on big trees to prevent someone from cutting the tree down (without a ton of effort!).

"The email stated that these pictures were taken with a home made trail camera above Blue Creek, east of Walla Walla, WA."

And then your lion pics are there. Congrats you made it to one of those circulating emails where eventually all the info will be completely wrong and some jerk will be claiming he took them. Throw me your email and I will forward the email I got.
