Title: Bow not 70#
Post by: Huntlots on April 15, 2014, 05:34:16 AM
I have a 2011 martin firecat 400 dual cam. I put it on the bow scale the other day and it scaled out to 62# and it is supposed to be 70# my question is what happened to my other 8#s of draw weight? I called martin and he said that it's probably my strings are wrong lengths (Haven't checked them yet). I put some extreme bowstrings on it a couple months ago. This sound right to you guys? I asked if my limbs could be weakening but he said no unless there is a crack in them. Which I have not seen. When I ordered my strings I made sure to put the correct lengths from what the bow said in when I ordered them. yes my limb bolts are tightened down.

Check your ATA and BH. Sounds like your bow wad not put back to speck when the strings were changed. Wrong string and cable length is a possibility also.

wrong string size.. I had this happen to me. the string length was marked wrong on the limb. I was only getting 42 lbs out of my 70lb bow. call martin and ask them what the correct string length is for that bow and compare it to what is marked. If that doesn't fix it  :dunno:
