Haven't put boat in water yet too many things still on the grill...
Once we do though I'll start posting photos etc.
We've had a wonderful spring; warm, light rain no heavy down pours nor any big winds off of the Taku or coming out of Haines/Skagway area.
Getting the boat all set is a bigger job than I imagined, not like river running at all. We are taking our second CG Aux class, bought Chapmans and the Coast Pilot #8 book as well as 4 charts for the areas we'll try to explore this year. As we get more accustomed to the area we'll need to add another chart or two.
I've been tickled to see that some of the younger lad here in Juneau still practice the good old Alaskan tradition of lending a helping hand. Some of the new folks in south central Alaska have forgotten that tradition. One of the lads I actually recognized from his middle school wrestling years in Fairbanks. We'd get up there every March with our team to fight it out for the middle school championships and I'd see all kinds of talent from around the area except Anchorage and SE.
I see Rasbo is busy hitting the local lakes.
Take care and I'll be posting soon
