Here are a couple pictures of my 2006 and 2007 early archery bulls. My 2006 bull my wife and I had found him in the evening time with about 1 1/2 hours of light left and he was just out feeding. So I thought to myself we would just sit and watch him until dark and come back the next moring so we took some video of him. Then he bedded down so I figured I would put the move on him. Long story short I missed him at 20 yards and he ran into a creek drainage and I got a 50 yard shot and I hit him a little far back. My wife watched from ontop and said she seen him bed down just inside the timber and he wasn't moving very fast. So we waited a couple of hours and it was dark so we went down to look and then we jumped him and he ran down the hill. I made the decision to leave that night and come back in the morining. I did not sleep at all knowing that bull was out there. Came back the next morining with my wife and dad and we had found the bull still alive but could not move very far. He had only ran about 150 yards from where we jumped him the night before. One well placed shot the bull expired quickly.
Over all leason for me was I made the right decision to pull out the night before and wait for daylight. Although very tough one for me to make. Who knows how far we could have chased him the night before. Also little note there was very little blood to track.

I use to bow hunt and went back to riffle and and got three bulls in a row so I went back to archery and got a cow in 2005 and then those 2 bulls and 2008 has been slow for me. Patients and just maybe I might get another one. Although I like my early season better.
