Looking for feedback on the Talley quick-detach rings.
Is anyone running these on a rifle?
I just bought a new scope and need to change rings because it's a 30mm and my current setup is a 1", so I'm considering a quick-detach option.
I'm currently running basic nikon rings with a pro-staff 3-9x40 mounted directly onto the action. I know I'm going to gain a little weight increase by adding a rail, and a little more with the detachable rings over basic Talley lightweights. I spent some serious coin (for me) on the new scope though - Bushnell 6500 Elite - and would like to use it on both my 308 hunting rifle and my ar15... so the versatility of the detachable rings might outweigh the costs in ounces.
The hunting would be for black bear and mule deer - backcountry backpack hunting. Will the detach rings hold a zero for rugged terrain hunting?
Also interested in feedback on other detachable rings.
Thanks!

Although I'm not a fan of any quick detach rings that I've seen, there probably okay for the guns you're planning on mounting the scope on. Personally, I'd pair up on the Talley lightweights on both rifles and mount the Nikon on your AR. :twocents:

Yep - thought about doing that, but I think the Nikon is going on my dad's Ruger 10-22

I thought about doing the same thing with the same scope.
I did stumble on a deal for some Warne QD rings....1".
They are not light but probably the sturdiest rings I've ever handled.
I still have them.
What is your .308 rifle?

I dont have those rings but have a different QD setup. I use them on 2 differnt 22lr that i own I can tell you that you are going to have to re sight in after each move. You may be able to Write down the clicks to compensate but that only gets you close. Why I really like it is I can protect the scope better off the rifle. :twocents:

There are some awesome quick detach rings out there. Warne are my favorites for QD rings. I use them on a lot of builds. I have started using some talley stuff and have had very good luck with there stuff so far. I have not used there quick detach so no feed back there but I have there rings on a few magnums and they have been solid.
