Title: Westport Halibut Fishing
Post by: Nape.257 on May 08, 2014, 12:34:12 PM: Going out to westport halibut fishing for the first time with my dad and brother.

We will be fishing on the Freedom.

Any tips for catching them or on what to bring on the trip.

Post by: trophyhunt on May 08, 2014, 01:23:37 PM: If you get seasick go get the patch! Bounce your bait off the bottom, wait for the slight pull and set hook. Love halibut meat but boring fishing IMHO. Bring good rain gear and enjoy!

Good rain gear, seasick pills/patch, lunch & drinks, the boat should have the rest. Oh yeah, bring your sea legs too, could be sporty out there. Have fun!

If you're going sunday the forecast is looking great, you should have a good time. See you out there.

Captain Chuck on the Freedom is awesome! You will have a good time with him and his crew. The only thing you need is whatever you need to be comfortable on the water :tup:

Had a great time couldn't have asked for a better day. :tup:
