Title: Smoking ribs & Taters
Post by: lamrith on May 11, 2014, 01:21:24 PM
Since I am taking over cooking for the day anyway, might as well go for it!

8# of babybacks from Costco.  I have had nothing but great luck with these ribs from Costco, they come wither blister packed or in the traditional foam and  plastic wrap.  They are de-membraned and ready to go right from the package.  Prices have jumped a bit though lately.

Normally for 7-9# packages there are 3 racks, but the 8# today had only two as one was HUGE, must have been a Hogzilla, easily double the mass of normal.  Seasoned up and waiting for start-time.
Also going to smoke up a couple potatoes for twice smoked potatoes.

Ribs turned out great.  Taters not so much, the smoking did not do anything but dry them out.  I will stick with normal twice baked for those..
