Title: Northern California Trout fishing ?
Post by: 334OKH on May 11, 2014, 05:02:30 PM: Good evening all, I am thinking about trout fishing in Northern California. I am hoping someone here has an idea of where to go. I would like to be 8 to 9 hours from Vancouver (wa) and probably in a camp ground type of setting as we have two crippled dogs to take. I'm not looking for trophy fishing just a fun, scenic experience. Thank you for any help.

If I remember right there is a diversion dam on the river that they do not plant hatchery rainbows above. So everything above that is supposed to be native red bands? I'm sure someone on here will tell me I'm full of it, but that's how I remembered it. There is a lot of brook trout in the river also. You can camp right at the foot of Mt Shasta.
