Title: 633 Mason
Post by: skunkmaster on November 26, 2008, 09:51:42 PM
Anyone have any success in GMU 633?  My dad and I are thinking of heading there this weekend for late muzzle loader season.  It's been a while since I've been over there, but the last time I was in the public land near Belfair it was crawling with ATV's and Mt. bikes.

My wife and kids all ended up with the cold/flu bug and were down for the count on Thanksgiving... so I stayed with them on Friday.  Which left me only Saturday to hunt.  I found a pretty active area... lots of sign, but didn't see any deer.

You must be hunting Sand Hill/Efendahl Pass area if your running into massive ATVS and whatnot. There is sooo much other area to hunt. 633 and 651 come together around Matlock. Some great areas in both units. Dewatto has some great deer too. Hunt the higher grounds in dewatto before you drop down into the bay area. Out by Oak patch lake there are some old spurs that will take you into the head waters of dewatto river. There just opposite side of road from Oak Patch Lake.

It may have changed a bit as more houses move in. I grew up out there and stomped all over.
