Just curious if anybody has hunted spring bear in skagit and might have any pointers they might want to share??

If you just drive your luck will be slim.  Get out on a few good looking side roads and walk them out.  Your odds will improve greatly.

Agreed. I hunted it a few years ago and saw very little sign early. Then got real busy at work and didn't make it out much the last 2 weeks. It was like an explosion of sign though. Right now is the time to hit it hard. Saw my first bear on the road driving out at night the last day.

Yeah I had the tag in 11 and 12 both of my bears came out of a couple year old cuts. I was hunting early though.  Next time I will wait tell later in the season to start hunting. My 11 bear was the last week of april. The 12 bear was the first week of may.

They are definitely out, have seen 6 and just notched tag this morning. If you are on sign keep hitting it, I actually saw bears this year in areas that had no sign.
