Got to admit, I don't have an expensive chronograph, It's a pretty basic Chrony, but it gets me close enough for what I want. I use it for bullets and arrows.
Built a protector for the front. 2.5 in wide x 10 in long x 1/16 thick piece of steel strap with a "V" built out of 1/8 in stock welded to the top and tall enough to protect the attached screen. If an arrow hits the V, it glaces off not hurting the unit, it may knock it and the tripod it is attached to over, but no damage. If ya know someone with a light welder, material is about $5. I also replaced the cloud screen rods with heavy mixed drink straws so if someone hits one it flies away and ya just replace it, no damage. Of course the straws are a bit flimsy so if you use them outside and here is much of a breeze the screens wiggle around some. I just wait for days with little breeze. Inside, no problem.
Will get the unit back from a friend who is using it and post a photo if anyone is interested.
