Just practicing... :chuckle:
-
Judging by the "selected" threads (2 or 3) so far this year....I cannot fathom that absurdity awaits this forum.
-
That would be expected this time of year, would it not? :dunno:
-
Just wait until it gets closer to drawing time. Let the complaining begin!
I actually look forward to it. it is entertaining :chuckle:
-
It's a love/hate thing this time of year.
:IBCOOL:
:bash:

This is my favorite time of the year! Other than hunting season, of course.
I'm pretty sure I'll draw my quality elk permit. Odds are really looking good- about 1 in 200. :yike:

You forgot the NOT part before selected.

:yeah: Application season is a lot of fun.

Today is a good day to put in for your permit. No lines.

Does this really have to start this early?! :chuckle:

I was really agonizing until the last minute on what to put in for with my 16 quality elk points. At the last minute I went points only figuring I had about a 60% chance of coming up with another tag in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming or Nevada. I wanted to be able to do a good tag justice. Glad I did now, I'm gonna be putting my effort into Nevada mule deer. With odds of draw at 1 in 470 average over the last 5 years The Nevada tag will have my full effort. Washington elk drawings will have to wait.
-
I helped I didn't apply for "quality" anything, hope your practice makes perfect.
-
.... You guys haven't done your elk draw yet? :P
-
One downside of putting in for the points option for years and years is when you finally put in and get chosen, your body is no longer able to perform up to the necessary standard.
-
I put in for Watershed.... I'm not getting any younger.
Don't want to be rocking away years from now wishing.
( one of the favorite parts of Hunting is "getting into hunting shape.")
I typically lose 10 to 15 lbs., Watershed hunt would shock me back to looking 25 yrs old again.

I don't know what areas you hunt on the regular, but if you typically lose 10-15 lbs for that, you may want to lose an additional 10 for the Watershed!!!! :chuckle: :chuckle:

anybody have a clue when the draw typically come out? I think it was mid june last year but cant remember.
-
CoryTDF did just the opposite last year. He called me up the night the draw posted.
"you draw anything?"
"Nah. did you?"
"nope"
Then he let me bellyache on for 5 minutes about WDFW, the point system, too many hunters, not enough elk, impossible draw odds, we'll probably be 85 years old before we draw a tag...etc...etc....etc...
Finally he couldn't take it anymore and gushed out that he drew the quality tag that both of us had been putting in for umpteen years...
With 3 less points than I have.
hilarious. >:(
