Has anyone ever hunted on the Columbia Plateau Wildlife management association lands for cow elk and what was your impression on these hunts. I may buy a few tickets if I don't draw cow elk in the draw.

I drew one of the cow raffle permits a couple of years ago. I went over and hunted for 3 days on 2 different occasions and never seen an elk or any sign on any of the properties you are allowed to hunt. There was about 18" to 24" of snow, so the elk were holding up in the refuge according to several of the locals that I spoke to.
The elk travel through the CPWMA properties, but there is no area that you can hunt that will really "hold" elk. If you want to hunt the late season in a new area, then I would say go for it.

We put in last year for myself and my daughter. You should be present if you are drawn to pick your actual date, the lady that runs it picked for us (wrong date though).
We were mailed a permit with a location and date. I called the guy to confirm and he said sorry, we are booked that weekend (and every other weekend). On paper it sounds like a decent deal, but our first experience led me to not even try this year.
