Title: Broadheads on Sale
Post by: sakoshooter on May 24, 2014, 11:28:10 PM
Sportco had Slick Trick Razor Tricks on sale for $15 per 3 pk so I had to get a couple packages. Never shot em before but like the other Slick Tricks I've used. After putting one together I thought I'd shoot it once just to see how well it flies with my field pts. I've hit pretty close to center of the bull a few times with other broadheads and I usually call it good enough but talk about lucky - I don't think it could get any more centered. I quit after that shot of course, LOL.

I saw a pack of 3-blade Muzzy's yesterday at Sportsman's Warehouse that came with practice broadhead blades. Basically they looked like unsharpened broadheads. Do you think those are close enough to practicing with the real thing in terms of arrow flight? Or maybe put another way, do you think they are a big improvement over conventional practice tips?

You just pick those up the last few days?  I might have to head down there...

Just picked em up yesterday(Sat). There were still a few more on the hook. And I'd guess they have more in the back.

As for practice heads: The store bought 'practice' heads might be just fine. I only shoot one broadhead arrow at a time at a bullseye because if I get lucky and shoot a tight group w/more than one the blades will ruin shafts quickly. Those practice heads would do the same even thought they're not sharpened.
Since I need the 'real' broadheads anyhow, just make one of them your designated practice head. Just my  :twocents:
