Anyone have a good recommendation of hot weather pants?
Kuiu, Sitka??? anyone have experience with them?
-
Sitka Ascent is what I roll.
Good stuff.
-
Military surplus. Great pants and affordable.
-
Any 6 pocket shorts In a dull color during hot weather
-
I run a pair of cargo pants from cabelas that are solid, not hot and ran me about $20. I thought they would be a bit weak and get holes but I am surprised how long they have lasted and for the price, I have got my money's worth.

summer bdu's they dont get much better than that, it has to be pretty nasty before i use something other than summer bdu's and i live on the wetside

core4element had some decent lightweight pants. Switchback was the lightest and then they had one that was in between the Switchback and Element pant, but I can't recall the name and their web-site got bungled up since Easton bought them. They have been running lots of them on Camofire over the last couple of months.
And then I would agree the Sitka Ascent or Mountain pant are awesome, but a little more expensive than the Core4element. They are probably a little more durable as well.

Sitka Ascent great summer pants. Also have a tab to pull up and snap for wading. Have a clay color which i'm waiting on. Wear them all summer long.
-
I bought Predator Adrenaline series for my bear hunt. Worked great!

I'm throwing in a vote for Cabela's Microtex pants.
All poly, dries quickly, Really well-made and tough for the weight of fabric. Have worked well for me in a wide variety of conditions. Also much quieter and more breathable than some of the cotton/poly blends. Price seems to go up every year- I think they are kinda pricey- but they go on sale quite a bit.
They used to make a regular and a lightweight version (I couldn't find lightweight on the website :dunno:)

I've got the Sitka Mountain pants too...I'd not wear these when it's hot out. They'd be too warm. Maybe up to 60 or so degrees I'm good in them. Above that, they're too much for me. I have the Core4 Element pants. The mountain pants are probably a little lighter than the Element pants.

I use the poly pants that have zip off legs and convert to shorts. Can usually pick them up cheap. Most come in neutral types of colors.
-
Sitka Ascent is what I roll.
Good stuff.
thank you guys! I ordered a pair of the Sitka Ascents.

haha- I won't be wearing them for that!! They are too expensive to get all dirty! ;).

Exactly right there

Good choice! I don't think you will regret spending the money unless you hunt a lot of briars. Those are the pants that started me using Sitka. Now I rarely ever wear anything else all season long. If only they would offer a mimicry pattern again!

Hot days both my dad and I use cotton pj bottoms in camo. It's cheap and super super light. They are really nice on 90+ degree days.
-
Kuiu has a pant specially designed for warm weather.
Forgot he name. Nice pants.
-
Kuiu Tiburon is about the best hot weather pants out there. Much better than the Acsents for hot weather. The Acsents pants are lightweight and have great stretch, but the lining they use makes my legs bead up with sweat quickly.
-
I bought some woolrich pants on the mens clearance rack at sportsmans before they went out of business or changed names...best lightweight cargo pants ever wore the heck out of them then last fall following that stupid buck I wrecked em barbed wire took em out, and now I cannot find another pair and I am so sad. I hate pants so finding some I liked wearing was a huge ordeal.
-
I see the original poster already found his pants but I wanted to throw out what I use. If you don't need (or want) camo these are awesome at less than half the price of the high end hunting clothes.

I'm just trying to find something a little lighter for early season.

Early season gear is UA Ridge Reaper scent lock for me. The light stuff. Breathes well and sheds moisture

I love the Kuhn revolvers for summer and early season. They are super light weight but tough as nails
