Title: Sub 2" group at 620 yards in 20+ winds
Post by: Jim the Plumber on June 10, 2014, 10:09:04 PM
I prefer to practice in the wind, and with gusty winds over 20mph today, I gathered up my Rbros 6.5x47 Lapua and my practice ammo (culls), I had just loaded on the Dillon 550, and headed to the range.
A fresh coat of paint on the 620 yard steel and headed back to the firing line.
Dialed up 3.3 MIL's ( forget to add 1 tenth) checked wind value and from prone with a rear bag and bi-pod, I squeezed off these 3 rounds.
Group is 1.9" left to right and .8" tall.
6.5 Lapua, Berger 130 VLD target, 42.2 grains of H4350, CCI 450 primers.
yup, done for the day.

Nice group. What were you holding on?  I am in the camp of aim small miss small but it is hard to pick out an poi with a white target.

Center up on the steel with my the correct hold for wind.
Elevation is dialed, wind this time was held.
