My son drew a youth Mt. spokane north cow tag. Any good starting points or information would sure cut down on the scouting fuel bill. This was the last year he was able to apply for the tag and boy is he happy. the older they are the better on the youth hunts. they can pack more meat that way :) less work for dad.
any info would be appreciated. thanks troy

Pretty easy. Come over the day before, buy a inland paper permit, go for a drive that evening, try to sleep, get up and shoot the first full size cow you see(preferably close to the road). Have fun and contact me if you need any help.

Great area for moose. I see them quite often up there. If you need help let me know.

Thanks for the info guys, i have heard its one of the easier hunts. but it cant really be that easy can it?. where do you have to go to get the inland paper permit. Gate guard?
-
I am not sure if you can buy it online, but there are a few places around Spokane to get them. And some of their land has "gate guards" and some does not.
-
Whites boots in Spokane is where I get my permit. Its easy access and a cool store to visit. Some lovely taxidermy in there as well.
Don't spend much money on scouting. Only spend the time and money you want for the experience of it all. There are moose all over.

Thanks guys

the block of inland paper off the chapman blanchard cut off would be the first place I would go. we hike and hunt that country and the moose out number all other species. I have helped 4 lucky winners get moose out of that area pm me if you need more directions

Im going to double post this Just wanted to say thank to benhuntin, bearnature, jls and james and every one else that helped in this hunt.
story is under (kirkl youth cow moose tag filled)

my buddies son has this tag and hasn't had the chance to get over yet. He was lucky enough to draw some other tags he is busy on. Do you think there is as good as chance later in season as the beginning to find a cow moose?
-
A much much better chance later in the season, as of today my son has passed on 10 bulls and that many cows in the unit he drew.
Once the leaves are off the bushes you can glass 10 times more ground, even better after it snows a little.
Good luck on the hunt

Did a quick purview of replies and did not see as to whether this Moose Youth Tag counts for the OIL tag? If not why not? or is this just another one of those instances where if you have the money you get added preferences

Antlerless only moose hunts do not count toward your OIL.

Patient dude, I could maybe pass on one or two max - maybe not even that.

Last year my son had the South tag. We started hunting during the general late buck hunt, and saw lots of hunters and very few moose, mostly Bulls. We then went back after the deer hunt, and one other moose hunter, and lots of moose.
