Hold out for a good one.....

Hunt of a life time right there. May want to talk with YakinDian he knows it well

I had it 2 years ago. Got run out due to the fire. We hunted hard for 3 days and saw 1 bull running away from me, i had no shot at it.
The fire got me my points back, but i would rather of found a nice bull.
I hunted the north end, the bulls were bugling at night and were invisible during the day. Hope this year turns out better for you guys.

Congrats to your buddy that should be one heck of a good time. I know the area very well will be up there myself for archery season good luck to the hunter if you get one down in a nasty hole I can and will be willing to help out packing

That's a great time to be in that area. They'll be talking ;)

Wilderness hunt. Easy access with a few trailheads along the west boundry. Also some good camp spots in the area. Either bivy in or you can hunt from the trailheads.

I disagree that they will be talking. I would focus your efforts on the last 5 days of the hunt. They did not talk during the season during the day. Only at night.

You have to remember that hunt starts when the rut could be already in full swing so some big bad herd bulls might not answer you if they have cows or they might answer and jus push there cows all over skamania county. I have also noticed there if its windy or rainy up there they don't like to talk. My best days have been clear skies and frosty mornings and even 1pm in the afternoon on nice days but if that winds blowing hard might as well holster that bugle
