Title: Walker Downriggers
Post by: Gobble Doc on June 19, 2014, 09:34:25 PM
Has anyone on here had any experience with Walker downriggers?  Rumor is that I'm going to get an electric model for my birthday!  It would end up on a 13 foot Boston Whaler.  I figured I wanted a Scotty but I don't know much here.

Definitely not popular around the northwest.  I think more people use them around the great lakes.

i have one of their electric models on my 16 foot boat. I also have a manual Scotty mounted on the other side. Its not a Scotty but works well. The depth gauge looses its place once in a while but i can see the ball with my depth finder so i can adjust accordingly. the pole holder attachment bolts have a tendency to loosen but some locktite took care of that problem.

Thanks for the info.  I'm leaning toward the Scotty as it seems like it will be easier for service and parts here in the N.W.
