Everyone wants to know what everyone is blowing on :chuckle:. lets see it or hear about it!
What type of call do you carry around your neck????
-
I carry over the counter junk, much of it older than you guys.
A Green Head Adjustable, a P.S. Olt D-2, a Haydel's DR-85 (modified), and a Haydel's MP-90 whistle.
I've got a P.S. Olt pintail whistle, and an old Faulk's but they are too sentimental to take afield.
My main four, are carried on a very nice Reece Outdoors Products lanyard.

Oops........forget to tell you guys, I have two Custom acrylic HS calls. very nice...The Ringer and Ringer 2. Great sound, both has just a little bit different pitch but they are both very ducky. I like to use one for my wails and call backs and the other for my feeder calls and short blows...I like the Ringer 2 the most cost as much as RNT though. Probably be my last call from them though, i like to try different calls and i can always just change reeds. There are some awesome calls out there now though........for goose i am learning so i went with a Short reed ECHO...sounds OK for what i know. Actually it probably sounds like *censored* :chuckle: but i am just learning. listening to those audio cds are sort of hard to. i need to find someone who knows what there doing to just show me. its funny watching people look at me blowin on those calls when im stopped at a red light, there always like" what the hells that guy doing " :chuckle: i think its funny..... wouldnt recommend doing it driving. got excited once and almost got in a reck, LOL......................

Well on my lanyard I carry 3 duck calls and one grounds Super Mag. The duck calls are just your basic Haydel's Cajun Squealers, all three of them tuned a bit differently. Strictly meat calls that don't look pretty to the eye but sound good to the birds.

Have you watched the "Honker Talk" video by Shawn Stahl?? He explains the basics very well and then moves on from there, at a pace that you can keep up with even as a beginner. I learned how to use a short reed call by sitting on the couch with my goose call and watching this DVD. (when the wife isn't around) After the first time she had had enough.
That stuff is hellarious. I know what you mean. thats why i keep it to the truck. Its either i erritate the wife, neibors, or the passing cars.........i pick road rage over neiborhood anger :chuckle:
oh and ill have to look into some videos.......thanks for the pointers.......

Tim Grounds Sweet Meet!!!.....awsome meat call. This call is ducky as hell. It's not a wide open, high ballin' call, curl your buddys' ear hair call, but it is deadly at being a closing and finishing call. I also have a RNT SR Goosezilla call. Really easy to blow...and cheap too. I have had all kinds of calls, but those two are the ones on my lanyard and the ones worth mentioning. I guess the Daisey Cutter wasn't bad either. Alot of call though.

almost got the daisy cutter but i cant stand spending dollar like that for a new one........
-
i have a faulk's dr 66 dual reed. im too green to know whether or not it sound good but i think im starting to get the hang of it. ive got it right here been blowin it all day at my desk job.

Well, let's see here...
Buck Gardner fowl Mouth II Double Reed
Buck Gardner Whistle
Primo's Original Wench
A really old faulks mallard call
Big River Goose Flute
Plus, a Haydels DC 87, just in case.
-
Right now i'm blowin a primos original wench. Absolutely love it. I can sweet talk with it, as well as reach out there and get their attention. I don't think i could over blow this call if i wanted to. Let my buddy who is a new caller try it this weekend, and he blew it much better than the Lohman he had. I also have the primos whistle/grunt call. The green one. It's great too.

I think god gave me all my calling talent for turkeys.
I suck... well maybe not suck but I don't consider myself a good duck/goose caller. And my calls reflect it:
- Haydel plastic
- Duck Commander wood
- Old school Faulks... best feedin call call I've used
- Old school wooden OLT goose call.
-
You're not alone intruder.

lndshrk gets 'em circling and setting on our cul-de-sac once in a while. it's great to see the neighbors wondering what the hell all the racket is about.
i'm with you 2...i suck.
