Post by: bugs n bones on June 26, 2014, 07:54:32 AM
I was told by a high ranking individual at verizon that they just set up oregon fish and game with service for there wireless game cams... I'd like to find out if this is in fact true and what wireless cam works thru verizon. Anyone on here no somebody at the dept they could call and confirm?

Reconyx makes them now.  And for the low low price of $1200 plus monthly service fees you too can own one.

Must be new then, because they only worked with AT&T service before.

Reconyx' "basic" trail cams can run $500+ even without the transmitter. Buckeye cams that do transmit can be had for about the same.

I just got back from pulling my cards in my cams. From the parking spot of the most remote to my house took me 5 hours to get home... One way. Add $150(ish) for gas (round trip). If I were hunting every year that far then a remote data plan might be worth the expense. It will take a few years to draw the tag again so I'll just continue to warm the planet with some V8 smoggy goodness.  8)
