Title: Damage Deer Tag info
Post by: Justin7mm on June 28, 2014, 11:12:24 AM
I went online to buy tags and there is an option for a damage deer and damage elk.  I have never seen this before and i can't find any information about it.  When I selected it as an option is asks if you have landowner permission, and if you select yes it will let you buy the tag for $22.  Does anybody know what this is or how it works?

My understanding is it is a change to the way damage prevention permits given to landowners are managed.  I was told more information will be coming out later on them.  I was told that you should not purchase one if a landowner has not given you a damage permit.

So be patient more information is coming and unless you know a landowner who receives permits and who trusts you and is willing to allow you access don't worry about it.

Dreamunelk is exactly right.   Unless you are supplied with a damage permit from wdfw, or are given one from a land owner don't buy the tag.   It used to be all you needed was the free permit to harvest a deer or elk, now you need to buy the $22 tag.   Just another way for the state to get into your pocket book.   :bash:

Ok i called WDFW on this are you ready.....
1.  The land owner has to be registered with the WDFW
2. You name has to be provided by the Land Owner to WDFW
3. Once that is done you can buy a tag b/c you have to provide land owners name when you go to purchase and it all has to match up.
