Heading out this year on my first elk archery hunt (first elk hunt period). I was curious, for those with experience, what's the size comparison on average between a spike bull and adult cow? Any? For the purpose of meat in the freezer, should one be a primary target over the other? Random thought...I know

Mature Cow Would Be A Bit bigger

Shoot a cow so I can find that bull's antlers in later years.

Don't pass up any opportunity at either one or you may regret it until next elk season! :twocents:

I shot a spike that went 165 lbs of meat.
My buddy same location and year shot a cow which went 235 lbs meat.
