There's a whole bunch of pi**** off hound and wolf hunters out there thanks to the bad publicity these guys gave them.
-
nice blackeye there.... idiots
-
morons. Another reason I can't use a decoy dog in WA.... thanks for sharing.
-
The dogs would've likely done the same thing if a person wasn't there filming...or yotes would've done that to a dog...or wolves would've done that to the dogs or yotes.
-
Some people. What an idiot.
-
To bad his dog didn't get killed now that would have been justice. Guy just sits there and watches as the animal is suffering so his dogs can treat it like a chew toy. I am a diehard hunter but that guy is nothing but a PUKE.
-
I don't think his dog deserves to die. I dont think this guy deserves to hunt or own dogs tho? Why not just put it out of its misery with a .22 and be done with the issue? And then this idiot posts the video online? WTF did he think was gonna happen when the general public/ anti hunters saw this? :bash: :bash: :bash:
-
No his dogs did not deserve I die. The dogs are doing what they do best, hunting. The dogs deserved to die just as much as that yote deserved to get chewed up. Most hunters don't understand hound hunting. The hounds go after the animal after you shoot it. Dead or not they want a taste or to bay it up again for another shot. But to film it and let the dogs kill the animal then post it online... Idiot!

Ya pretty dumb to film it than post it online, thats the only thing I see wrong.
I'm sure that coyote always made quick and humane kills on his prey.......

Whether or not the coyote made quick kills is inconsequential it is our duty as hunters to dispatch game humanely and imediately. I know hounds sometimes will kill wounded game. But waiting for the dogs to show up to kill it is wrong. PERIOD. just pop it with a gun and finish it off.
-
Its a coyote big deal. We've been using dogs to hunt with far longer than we've had weapons.
-
The anti's wont see it that way...Kill all the coyotes you want. I'm just saying that looks horrible.
-
A real hound hunter would have shot and killed the coyote before the dogs got there. Then let em get a taste and get them together to leave. Even the other guy in the video is like ok that's enough. This was excessive and will hurt Houndsmen across the country.
-
yep- if the dogs catch it on the ground somewhere they can wool on it. Letting it wait for the dogs is crap.
I have a serious dislike for coyotes, but I couldn't stand by and let that yote wait like that
-
Yeah that guy is an idiot .. :bash: :bash: :bash:
-
More fuel for the anti fire. Guy sounds like a Canadian...."cuyoot"?

He's probably a yooper, folks in the UP can tend to talk like that.
-
That was ghoulish.

I'm with JJB11B on this one.
Don't we, as hunters and trappers, have a duty to dispatch the animals we hunt and trap as humanely and as quickly as possible? To me, anything beyond that smacks of animal cruelty and has nothing good to offer the hunting and trapping community.
More than than, it's a poor refection on the humans who actually play out their sadism behind the safety of their hounds and calibers. That video should be shown to Hunter Safety classes as an example of what never to do. I am not against someone shooting coyotes or wolves (when it's legal to do so), but vilifying the animals and subjecting them to torture? No. Like hunting dogs, they are doing what they do. It's up to us as humans to show we have more capacities.
The video reminds me of the time my wife and I attended a bull fight. At first, before it started, I couldn't believe that they would be killing the bulls. But after things got rolling, and I saw the degree of suffering the bulls were having to withstand for the sake of the participants and crowd, I just wanted to go into the ring with my .270 and put the bulls out of their misery.
There is unavoidable suffering that comes with hunting and trapping, but isn't it up to us to do everything we can to prevent the avoidable varieties such as we have witnessed on the video?
