I've got a Defensive Edge brake on my .300 win mag barrel. It works great. It's loud but I think they're supposed to be loud. I can watch target hits in the scope when I shoot. Love it...

Is it a sporter weight or heavier contour?

I have a Shrewd Precision 7 degree brake on my 300 RUM. They're about $70ish online shipped. Mine was put on for a total with brake for $125 from my gunsmith.

I also have the same one on my Creedmoor, works great too..

Good question.
Mine is on a heavy contour barrel. It would look silly on a sporter contoured barrel.

Most likely a browning a-bolt if that helps you. Or a 700 sendero

On a sporter weight Vais Arms is a exellent choice along with Harrell's. Vais's are spendier than Harrel's but the Harrel's can be had for 25.00 bucks cash or so, stuffed in a envelope and sent to them. You just have your smith thread, taper and install it.

It all depends on if you want a sleek contoured look or you don't mind a larger utilitarian type brake. For the heavier barrel contours. Muscle , Defensive Edge and Killer Innovations are good brakes.

Holland have been my favorite. I have run them on several rifles. I am going to be playing with a new severe duty precision armament M41 pretty soon.

I run Shrewd  brakes on my rifles, they can easily be turned down to match your barrel contour, excellent price and they work great. Check em out.
