Worth going out ?
1 hatchery king limit
was wondering how its been
-
I hear slow. Might be a little weather kicking up this eeekend...check those NOAA forecasts. Good luck and let us know.
-
I plan on waiting until it gets better, 6 bucks a pack for herring and 405 a gallon for gas makes for a 100 dollar day
I need to go practice 60 and 70 yds at KBH anyway
-
Guys at work who took yesterday off were pretty disappointed with the catching. I understand the fishing was good the weather was great and the beverages cold but the catching was poor.
-
my buddy is out tonight. I will get a report and post. I was going to go Saturday morning, thinking I might go to Westport instead.
-
I was out yesterday for the Hansville tourney. Not many boats with bent rods that I saw. We netted one native, released and had no other bites. We only heard a few boats hook up compared to the numbers we saw out there - we fished mostly around point no point.
-
Heading out again in the am... Been really slow. Only four fish hit the deck out of five of my buddies boats that were fishing the last two days...
Hopefully, we'll hit at least one tomorrow.
-
2/5 the first two days. May as well pack it in an hour after 1st light
-
Hit mid channel bank Wednesday and Thursday. Hooked and bonked an 8# on Wednesday and nothing on Thursday. We were definitely in the top 5% with that one 8# fish. Graph showed absolutely no bait and the rest of the 200 boats showed not many salmon there.
I'm not sure what the deal was, but the salmon and baitfish didn't get the memo about the red hot opener. The fog was pretty thick on Wednesday, a few guys played bumper boats with the ferries. I almost got pegged by a guy running N-S right in the middle of the channel at full bore while we were crossing. No lights, no lookout, just full throttle.
-
It’s shaping up to be the worst season since they reopened this fishery. So far I’ve had 2 hits and released 2 native kings. I hope they extend the season because there is no way the quota is going to be reached unless something dramatic happens soon.
-
My father and son caught two clipped fourteen pounder's yesterday.
-
Heading out in the morning. How has this week been after the rain?
-
Just got home... Fished pnp and skunk bay... Got one around 8pm
-
sounds like its still pretty slow
I think I may do Seiku next weekend
-
Ended up hitting 1 keeper blackmouth yesterday morning in A10 for the first time out this year. Caught a couple small shakers and a small resi coho. Was going to go out this morning but wasn't feeling up to it. It'll be another week or two before those fish move in that aren't resident it looks like from the creel reports. I only saw two small shakers get caught. Sekiu sounds like a safe bet though from reports I've seen. Sad thing is they'll probably close A9/A10 before the bulk of the run comes through.
-
We had a good morning today in ma10. Bennett and I had our two chinook by 6:30am, picked up our two pots and had five keepers, back at the dock by 7:15.
-
I saw you walking outta Albertson's with those!!! :dunno: :chuckle:

They gave me a discount if I took the ones that weren't already cleaned!

Glad to see some are doing Ok
will try Seiku end of the week for a pre-retirement Thursday and Friday trip
5 months to go and done after 38 years

GREAT picture of your fishing buddy . Gotta love that. Nice haul too.
Madmax, good luck on the fishing and congrats on the retirement, 38 years is a long time no matter what you do. Hope you get that many years in retirement as well.

I'm re-thinkining going to the straits after reading this

Fished Mid Channel and Wilson yesterday and the day before. I can usually scratch up a few but only had one chance jigging and that one came undone. Only saw 2 nets fly the entire time. The gal at the gas dock said the day before 20 fish were checked for 40 boat so there were a few around, just not for us. To add insult to injury when I was flushing my Yamaha something popped and it's now dead all the way to the key. Grrrrrrr! Not sure what to do there.

Yeah, seems that several runs just aren't showing up. First, I jinxed Midchannel, then Baker Lake. I'm afraid to make plans for B10, but it seems to be a good move to press pause now, save vacation and hit the Columbia hard. Hopefully the coho show up here for September.

Hooked two this morning on p bar
-
I’ve brought 4 to the boat so far this season. All four had their full complement of fins intact.
-
Any recent reports? I am going in the morning. I think Pt. No Point is producing somewhat. My other idea is possession. Any suggestions?
-
One today at pnp for our boat

Picked up 3 silvers this weekend from our bulkhead.

Any reports from the weekend? Was hoping to get out but a weeping transfer case kept me grounded. S4S this weekend!

The Edmonds Coho derby was Saturday and the winning fish came from area 9. It’s still pretty slow though.
-
Thanks....hoping it picks up a bit...we need some bloody decks come this weekend.
-
Been out down off Shipwreck/Browns Bay and out into the shipping lanes a couple times this last week. Was really good before the derby, was definitely slower yesterday out there, but we found a few. Had to search a little deeper for them...
