Got my Moultrie M80xd cams yesterday. Picking up batteries. The package recomended Energizer or Duracell. I'm wondering if Lithium batteries are worth the extra expense? How much longer do you guys think the lithium would last than regualr AA batteries?

Yes! I only use lithium now. I used to have to change my batteries every two months. I literally haven't had to change my batteries since I switched to lithium a year and a half to two years ago.

Definitely worth it especially in the winter

In my Canon digital camera that used AA batteries, I used to go through a set of batteries in a weekend. Went to the lithiums and didn't have to change batteries for over 6 months, so in my opinion they are definitely worth the extra cost.

I'd say definitely worth it for you since your cameras will be several hours away.
For me, close to home, I've always just used cheap alkalines. In my Moultrie M80 they last a couple of months, and that's more than enough battery life when I'm checking it every couple of weeks.
But if my cameras were 7 hours away I would definitely spend the extra money on lithiums.

I have them in a couple cameras, so far I like them. I think the only issue may be that the battery meter does not work, it alway reads close to 100%. So far mine have been going for months and working great.

Picked up SD cards and lithium batteries today. Think I'm set! Thanks for all the input you guys have been giving me since I decided to buy cams!
