Title: look for access on the eastside of the blues.
Post by: chucker on July 29, 2014, 05:31:24 PM
Hey all, I was lucky enough to draw a whitetail buck tag for the east side of the blues. (Hunt #1102) does anyone have any advice on some feel free to hunt lands or some land owners that have a deer problem that I could help them with. 😃

Thanks in advance

Quite a bit of National Forest in 175 and 172 and some scattered WDFW lands in 175/181.  Other than those I would suggest taking a scouting trip looking for good whitetail areas posted as Feel Free to Hunt or Hunting by Written Permission and contact the land owner on the sign.  Good luck on your hunt.  That's a great time to be chasing whitetail bucks.

There is also some land here and there in the "Hunt by Reservation" program through WDFW.
andersonjk4 is right though, there's lots of public ground in 175 and 172.

Welcome to the site! :hello: I have been tying to get some private access as well for my elk tag. I spoke to a property owner yesterday. He was nice but said he already had some guys hunting his land with land owners tags later in the season and did not want elk taken before their hunt. I understood his point. Never hurts to ask.

Any luck on private access? Is your tag the foothills east tag?

No luck on private yet. Still a few feelers out there that might come thru. Did learn a bit about the reserve to hunt option online and might get a piece or two saved from that.

All the pics on this site is getting me fired up to go...
