Had another good day fishing with some nice kings showing up close in today. It's been one of those years where the predictions seem to be right on we have had an awesome season here this summer.
-
Nice kings.

They were there yesterday Tony and could have been there today but we caught 1 native and then ran up the beach sure hope the ocean stays nice for your vacation its been around 60 here so bring sweatshirts.

Very nice looks like some good fish steaks on the barby in your future

Nice job Del... My timing is all messed up as I agreed to take a bunch of folks Sturgeon fishing on the Willamette this weekend way back in Jan... Auuuugh, much rather be out fishing for Salmon.... Maybe I feel a cold coming on????? Hmmmmm???

When ya say close in ya mean off the jetty?
-
Today we went north about a mile above the jetty in 40 feet of water and had our fish by 9 oclock with 4 nice kings the ocean was just great flat as it gets. Diver-flasher and herring at 15 pulls works for us.
-
Are these fish that move in that close typically grays harbor fish, willapa fish, Columbia fish, combo? I'm curious if the GH kings are really starting to show.
-
I think maybe a little bit of fish from all those places I heard they are catching fish in the willipa some of the fish have that gold color that makes you think local fish. We had done well right behind the south jetty and today were a mile north of the north jetty in 35 feet so they are close to the bay.

Are you sorting thru very many kings to get a couple nice slabs like those? Well done, by the way.
My dad went out today and they were up the north side a little ways in 35-40ft. of water. He told me they caught nearly everything on divers and bait behind flashers. Were you using bait or lures???
-
We used the same stuff divers and flashers with bait. There were a lot of nice fish caught today close to the beach. Hope the weather holds and the fish keep close Tony.

Nice Del ! I fished outside mouth of columbia - just off North Head last 3 days, 35 feet water. Diver, flasher, whole herring 10-12 pulls. All boats had coho and some smaller kings. Didnt see any like Buckhorns. I had a hard time landing coho with barbless hooks. Limits by 10:30 am every day.
