Anyone do any fly fishing in the Mt. St. Helen's area?
Will be camping up out of the Kalama Horse Camp the next couple weekends. Fishing from shore. Maybe some lake that you hike into?
Thanks

Well being at the Kalama Horse camp, the obvious would be Merrill Lake, just down the raod and fly only. Just up the road you can hike the Kalama ski trail into goat marsh, lake has both cutts and brookies. Blue lake is catch and release only single barbless no bait, but has some very nice cutthroat and not too far up the road and a quick hike. McBride lake isn't realy there anymore since the river blew through it, but back in the far corner there is still some slow deeper water that holds a few brookies. Don't forget the skeeter spray though, they can be pretty bad this time of year.

Coldwater lake is another selective fishery that is awesome for rainbows
