Can anyone please tell me the proper way to preserve velvet on deer antlers?

Either freeze dry it or velvet tan. I have a set of muley antlers that i set out in the sun on hot days and they dried out and the velvet is good since 2006. For a shoulder mount i would have the taxi do it the correct way.

i put a set in the chest freezer for a year.  velvet looks great!  :tup:

I used borax on a small set for a skull cap
