Title: Cannon Uni-Troll clutch adjustment?
Post by: C-Money on August 12, 2014, 11:10:04 AM
Anyone adjust the clutch on a manual Cannon uni troll? One of mine is pretty touchy, drops the ball kinda quick, really gotta pay attention. Not a big deal to me, but when others who pay less attention set lines on that downrigger, they tend to let it really zip down and shock load the thing when they stop it. I'll post a pic so you can see what kind I have. Thanks for the help.

Well, I began to take apart a down rigger. Got far enough into it that I figured out I was not gonna be able to adjust anything. Probably need to send it in. Its not that bad, so I will just fish with it this season.

I have 3 different cannon manuals and 2 are smooth and 1 is not. I have tried to figure out the problem and couldn't visually see anything. I resurfaced the brake disk and then cut some gouges across the face and it got better but not as good as the others. I have also replaced the flat washers and roller bearing and that made no difference.
