Title: Crabbing the Olympic Coastal Beaches? In a raft?
Post by: acnewman55 on August 12, 2014, 04:20:03 PM
My GF and I want to do a little beach hiking and camping somewhere on the Oly Coast.  We were thinking Forks / La Push area.

Would love to get in a little crabbing while we're at it.  I've got a little Zodiac raft and 7-horse evinrude I've used for crabbing puget sound, but I have no idea how hard it would be to launch off one of those coastal beaches.

Anyone know if its possible to crab the beaches in those areas from a raft/kayak etc?

Thanks!

I don't know that you can have anything motorized on those beaches due to wilderness regs.  Probably could on the tribal beaches at LaPush, but just for launching not crabbing.   :dunno:

Its possible for sure if the surf is not bad. Might have a harder time with the steeper beaches like Rialto/Mora Mora.
